When my Mum died Richard was kindly recommended by my close friend as someone who would conduct a caring, supportive and very personal service for my Mum, Marie and for us, the family. We were not disappointed.
Richard listened as we described Mum and told her life story. In the service he told her story, incorporating some poignant and some light hearted memories from our family. We chose some very special songs, dear to Mum and the family. We always felt cared for and Richard always made us feel at ease.
He conducted the service at the funeral beautifully and we as a family will always feel grateful and thank Richard for everything. I know my Mum would have loved it also. Thank you so much Richard.

My dad was in the army and while I knew he wasn’t specifically religious I knew that I could not let him go without more than a nod to his army career in the Green Howards.
My dad was organised and had engaged a funeral service package, and after meeting with them I advised that they liaise with Richard regarding the order of service, the content and the music I wanted. He also had to liaise with the regiment’s welfare office regarding the use of music specific to my dad’s battalion.
Throughout the whole process he kept me informed in a timely way, not intrusive but with a welcome sensitivity at such a difficult time.
On the day of the service Richard warmly greeted the crematorium staff in South Shields, the funeral home, veterans from my dad’s regiment, and family and friends who attended. I took comfort in how smoothly the service went -and how proud my dad would have been.
I wholeheartedly recommend Richard, from the initial telephone call to engage him to delivering the actual service, I was impressed with the warm, professional and heart felt way he conducted himself. I felt very supported.
